Viking Island – Season’s End 2025

Well folks, that’s a wrap on another incredible summer here at Viking Island! As we pull the boats, drain the lines, and tuck camp in for another long northern winter, we can’t help but look back with full hearts and a lot of gratitude.

It was a season packed with great memories — from early morning coffee on the dock to the sound of loons calling across the lake. We were lucky to welcome so many wonderful guests, many familiar faces and some new. It was a real treat to share the island once again with family and friends who make this place feel like home. Whether it was swapping stories in the lodge or celebrating a big catch, it’s the people who make Viking Island what it is.

Mother Nature threw us a few curveballs this year — warmer than normal weather, socked in fog patches that kept us grounded and some of the lowest water levels we’ve seen in a long time — but everyone took it in stride. The fishing was still fantastic, the laughs were plenty, and we all made the best of what the season had to offer.

One of the biggest highlights for us was bringing Embryo Cabin back into the Viking Island family. It feels great to have that little piece of history returns home, and we can’t wait to see it come back to life in the seasons ahead.

Now that the last boats are out and the lake is quiet, we’re already thinking ahead to next year — more adventures, more stories, and more time spent with the folks who make this all worthwhile. It’s a family, a tradition, and a way of life.

From our family to yours, thank you for another unforgettable summer on Viking Island. We’ll see you when the ice goes out!
