Winter is here to stay!
As the temperatures have been dropping the lakes have started to freeze. Howey Bay has already froze over and opened up more then once, the water temperature definitely at the freezing point. It should be frozen solid this week as long as it not to windy. The wind tends to break it up. The larger body's of water will take longer to freeze. As snowmobilers and ice travelers we would hope to be mainly frozen by the end of November and completely frozen by end of December. All Red Lakers that use the lakes/ice as travel ways follow a chart and check the thickness of the ice before using it.
